Let's get Personal: Things I do in Quarantine

Updated: Jul 13, 2020

January was a great month for me as I was recovering from all the shopping and how can I forget all that, trying to be on top of things.

Everything was going pretty great until I unexpectedly lost my job. I had no plan B and I began panicking. Although my friends and family were quite calm and supportive. They told me to relax and take this time to breath. So I did that. And then within a blink of an eye - quarantine happened. I listened to my loved ones anyways and so my journey towards RELAXATION began.

I use to wake up at around 9 or 10 am in the morning depending on which wine I drank the night before lol. I would go about my day applying to jobs and then the usual job seeking routine. I loved afternoon naps. After lunch, I would usually go back to those soft sheets and take a nap for 2 hours or so. I would wake up feeling so exhausted instead of fresh. And the rest of the evening I would catch up with my Instagram fans because that’s my personal favorite. After that I would have my dinner and stay up late in bed watching Youtube videos. For a while, it felt great. However, as weeks flew by, I started feeling miserable. I felt like I did not have my life together and you know how that feels, right?

Fast forward 2 and half months later, I’m still in quarantine and jobless. And probably I understand with the decline in the market, job seekers like myself are finding it challenging to get back to the battlefield. However, here’s the catch. During this entire quarantine, I CHANGED. Yes, and for good.

So, here’s my top favorite things I’ve been doing during this quarantine. Are you ready? Here goes:

1) Personal Development

I’ve invested this time to mend myself. Just like how we take our cars, phones and electronics for servicing, in the same way our mind and soul needs a lot of repair work as well. Hahah I’m sorry to compare you to an object but I think that’s a perfect example. I’m a huge fan of listening to/reading inspirational stuff and if you follow me on LinkedIn, you’ll know I practice what I preach.

2) Heath/Fitness

Six months back, I joined the gym. Since then I’ve been crazy on working out and trying to get lean and physically active. Quarantine has changed my routine. With all the gyms and parks being closed, I along with millions of fitness freaks had to workout from home. Now mind you, I’m a determined person. Once I put my mind into something, I have to finish it no matter what. I started working out at home for an hour everyday. I will cover an entire article on this as well and give away tips on how to achieve those results you always wanted. Trust me they work!!!

3) Cooking

Now if you follow me on Instagram, you’ll know how much I love to eat. I can eat and sleep thinking about food. With that being said, I hoped you checked out my Pasta with a Blasta recipe. Quarantine brought out the best chef in me. With that being said, don’t forget to visit my Pinterest page to check out my latest ideas on food and much more as well. I cook every other day and basically anything healthy that I crave, would be the next thing on my plate. (wow that rhymed)

4) Social Media Detox

I find staying away from Instagram (that’s my one and only favorite app as I will continue mentioning it thousand times) has helped me complete unimaginable tasks. It can be exhausting to be a part of something. Sometimes, watching someone else go to a beach or for a long drive could make me feel sad. This is because either the beaches are too far from my place and for that I would’ve had to use the pubic transit since I don’t drive. Someone rightfully said that in order to take a step forward, you need to take a step back. I used to feel FOMO (Fear of Missing Out) but I don’t care anymore because I keep myself super occupied and I don’t have time for social media except for times that I have absolutely NOTHING to do.

So these are some of my favorite things that I’ve been doing this quarantine. Nothing can change the situation we are in right now. BUT I promise you one thing that can definitely change and that is…. DRUM ROLL PLEASE...

“YOU”

Change your perspective and you’ll find good in everything bad. How are you spending your quarantine???

Don’t forget to share this article with your friends and family. I know they’ll love it just like you did. Drop a message on my Instagram handle. It'll mean the world to me.

Until next time

- Love and kisses from la juillet
